Vaseem AnjumFounder, President and CEOVaseem Anjum is the founder, president and CEO of SchoolCity Inc., a Silicon Valley based Education and E-Learning Company. He brings a wealth of experience in engineering, business and management from the many companies he has since started. He received his Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications from National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysore, India and his Masters degree in Computer Science from Oregon State University, USA. Prior to starting SchoolCity, he founded several internet companies including N-Square Inc. and BizPivot.com Inc., an internet consulting company with an offshore development center in India. Mr. Anjum founded Internet Commerce Solutions during the early stages of internet where he learnt to leverage the power of the net in delivering solutions to solve basic problems. Mr. Anjum founded Enabling Technologies that was merged with Avaz networks and later acquired by Quartics. (www.quartics.com) Mr. Anjum was the design manager at NEC Electronics, USA where he successfully managed and built four new microprocessor PCI chipsets for the 32 bit and 64 bit VRSeries embedded processors. Mr. Anjum's first job after graduation was at National Semiconductor, California where he started as an intermediate engineer in the CAD group and grew to a senior engineer working with cutting edge simulation and design technologies in the processor group. Mr. Anjum has been a board member of a K-8 School and on a school site council for a middle school. He is also very passionate about charter schools and is working on starting a charter high school in the bay area.
Kris JensenVice President, Sales, Marketing & Business DevelopmentKris is responsible for directing and managing all of SchoolCity's sales, marketing and partnership opportunities. He brings more than 20 years of management, sales and marketing experience working for Fortune 1000 companies like Coca Cola Enterprises, AT&T and Kinko's Corporation. His experience in the K-12 market is extensive, most recently serving for many years as Director of Sales for TetraData Corporation, a large K-12 data warehouse provider. Kris is also a member of many national associations, education committees and coaches school and AAU basketball in his spare time.
Maidul IslamEngineering ManagerMaidul brings with him 15 years of experience in architecting, designing and developing software in leading IT industry. He is responsible for managing the engineering team that includes development team, QA team, data upload team and release team and also offshore and contract services both internally and externally. He manages and helps in defining SchoolCity's product development line. Among other accomplishments, he is the architect and primary designer of the product architecture that allows SchoolCity to introduce constantly new features. Throughout his career, he had great opportunities to lead various teams in research and architecting many innovative and challenging software projects. He had also interacted with many reputable engineers, researchers and educators in his career. Prior to working at SchoolCity, Maidul was a Software Engineer at Yield Dynamics Inc., a leading provider of enterprise yield management software for semiconductor industry, where he was responsible for leading the team for developing the advanced process control (APC) software. Maidul has a Master's degree in Software Engineering from San Jose State University, California and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institiute of Technology (VNIT), formerly Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE), Nagpur in India.
Moin A HaqSenior Software EngineerHe has 12 years of experience for IT industry. His responsibilities include develop, deploy, and maintain various SchoolCity Products for K-12 school districts. He is the primary designer for SchoolCity SchoolScan Product. His responsibility also include gathering project specification, analyze and user needs from school districts, discuss with Engineering Manager and implement a plan to develop with the design team. Prior to joining SchoolCity, Moin was a Software Engineer at Bizpivot Inc., where he was a team leader for maintaining various multi-deciplined applications. Moin has his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangalore University, India.
Kallesh KumarSoftware EngineerPrior to joining SchoolCity, Kallesh is a Project Manager in Bizpivot Pvt Ltd., a software development company in Bangalore, India. Kallesh is having around 9 years of significant, progressive experience in information-technology focusing on Web-based and client/server-based applications, custom development projects, as well as customization of products. His responsibilities include design, development, managing projects, collaborating with project teams, interfacing with clients, and deploying technology to build successful solution for clients. Prior to joining Bizpivot, Kallesh worked as Software consultant in Eturn Communications Inc, Sunnyvale, California. He was involved in development of web based product for organizations and individuals to publish information of interest to a self-selected audience of subscribers and provide the means to keep the published information automatically up-to-date. Prior to Eturn Communications Inc, Kallesh worked as software engineer in C.G. VAK, Coimbatore, India. He was involved in development of Business-to-Business (B2B) e-commerce solution for SMB Computers & Peripherals Limited, a UAE based global dealer. Kallesh has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kuvempu University in India.
Doreen O'DonovanSenior Trainer/Account ManagerPrior to joining SchoolCity she was a Research Analyst for the Santa Clara County Office of Education. While there, she trained teachers, principals and district administrators how to practice data based decision making when writing their school plans. She worked with school leadership teams to create, operationalize and evaluate programs to improve student achievement and student engagement. Doreen has worked on two best practice studies that evaluated how districts were improving student achievement at a faster rate than their peers were. She evaluated California schools while with Spring Board Schools (Formally Bay School Reform Collaborative), and she evaluated schools in North Carolina, Wisconsin and Michigan while with Ann Arbor Public schools in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Doreen has presented at the following conferences on topics related to how to gather and use assessment data and how to write a school plan:
Dale JohnsonData Specialist & Software DeveloperDale has 14 years of experience developing, deploying and maintaining software that supports K-12 education. As a developer with VRSchoolhouse, he was heavily involved in the creation of the CurriculumTracker and LearningTracker applications that are part of SchoolCity's current suite of offerings. Prior to this, he co-developed the UnitMaker application for Norris Education Innovations Inc., and he is still supporting the program well over a decade after it's inception. Dale has worked extensively with technologies such as C, C++, C#, VB, ASP, ODBC, .Net and SQL Server in application domains ranging from loan origination to permitting to property accounting. Dale earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Dakota, graduating summa cum laude.
Syed Abdullah SaleemTechnical LeadBefore SchoolCity, he worked as a Research Assistant in the field of Computer Software Engineering. Also, he has been involved in teaching computer related courses. Abdullah earned his Master's degree in Information Systems from Kennesaw State University, Georgia. |
