Districts today expect a lot from their data systems… and well they should. After all, meeting accountability requirements these days depends on having comprehensive and robust data systems.

As a result, SchoolCity has developed a completely integrated suite of standards-based solutions that truly deliver value from the Classroom to the Boardroom.

Great accomplishments always start with a solid plan and SchoolCity's product suite is no exception. Partnering with Dr. Victoria Bernhardt, a recognized expert in School Improvement Planning, we present the tool, SchoolPortfolio™. This tool takes Dr. Bernhardt's life's work and many publications and transforms it into a web-based tool. Numerous schools, districts and State Education Agencies have adopted Dr. Bernhardt's methods, SchoolPortfolio™ (the tool) makes her planning process that much easier to use.

State content standards have been a reality in education for a number of years. However, the real challenge for educators is keeping up with how these standards change and ultimately aligning and integrating them into their curriculum. To address this challenge, SchoolCity has partnered with Academic Benchmarks to create a Standards Repository. This repository is state-specific and used to feed all of our solutions with current and accurate standards.

A Standards Repository helps schools and districts connect what students are taught in the classroom with what they will be tested on at the end of the year. This is Curriculum Management, a critical element in SchoolCity's solution suite. We call our management tool, CurriculumTracker™ and not only does it align curriculum, it also creates curriculum maps, provides scope and sequencing and standards-based lesson plans. Another related benefit of a Standards Repository is to allow educators to track student's performance, based on standards. LearningTracker™ is a standards-based gradebook and report card and is SchoolCity's module for Instruction and Practice. LearningTracker™ is 100% web-based and flexible enough to adapt to virtually any school or district setting.

Assessment and Diagnostics is the next logical step to take in becoming standards-based and data driven. From district level benchmark's to school and teacher level formative assessments, the ability to periodically assess student's mastery of standards is critical to improving teaching and learning. SchoolCity's assessment tools include an AssessBuilder™, DirectEntry™ scoring and plain-paper SchoolScan™ method of creating, scoring and loading assessment results into a centralized analysis and reporting system.

Data is interesting to teachers as long as it includes their most recent assessment results and shows strengths and weaknesses (standards mastery) for their current students. We call this, Data Movement and is why SchoolCity provides AutoLoad™, an automated Extract, Validation and Loading tool that ensures the most current data is available. Be it roster or demographic data from a student information system, state and local assessment results or information from other sources, having current and accurate data is critical to any data-driven system.

Data Analysis is rapidly becoming a must-have tool in districts today. In addition to teachers, site and district administrators want to see all of their data, sliced and diced in many different ways. STARS™ is SchoolCity's slicer and dicer if you will. A robust longitudinal Business Intelligence Data Mart, STARS™ delivers answers through role-based dashboards, ad-hoc query and flexible reporting. For those districts just getting started using data, SchoolCity has a simple to use state assessment charting tool called SchoolCharts™. This tool comes pre-loaded with assessment results for every school, district and service agency within a state. No training is required, just click and see results compared to others in the state.

Districts do expect a lot... and SchoolCity delivers!
